During Advent there are many special events and carol services taking place in our Parish. You are asked to support as many of these as possible. The details of some of these are noted below:
Toward Bethlehem: An Advent Journey with Mary and Joseph.
The Parish Pastoral Council has organised a series of weekly talks during Advent. The series uses guided meditation on scriptural passages, art and poetry. Each session will be held in Iona at 7pm and will last for approximately one hour. The dates of the sessions are:
- Thursday 28 November;
- Thursday 5 December;
- Thursday 12 December;
- Wednesday 18 December.
Friday 30th November – Annual Mass for the Deceased Members of the Parish at 7.00pm.
This evening is a beautiful expression of the faith, hope, love & belief that Jesus Christ has died for us and that He offers redemption to all of us who believe in Him. Everyone is welcome to this Mass and especially those who have lost a loved one over the last year. Refreshments will be served after the Mass in Iona.
Wednesday 4th December – St Patrick’s Primary School Advent Service in St Colmcille’s Church, at 7.00pm.
Come join the children in celebrating the Story of the Holy Family and the Birth of Jesus. Refreshments afterward in the school assembly hall.
Sunday 8th December – Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Tuesday 10th & Wednesday 11th December – St Patrick’s Primary School, P1-P3 Christmas Concert at 1.00pm. These events will be held in the School.
School Concert on each day. Choose your day and come and be part of the fun and entertainment!
Sunday 22nd December – 10am Mass – Children’s Nativity Play.
The children of the Parish will put on a Nativity Play during 10am Mass. Come along and join in the greatest story ever told.
Sunday 22nd December – Parish Family Carol Service from 5.00pm to 6.00pm in St Colmcille’s Church.
This will be a joy-filled evening of carol singing and with some reflections. The singing will be led by the Senior Choir, Parish Folk Group and St Patrick’s P7 Primary School Choir. Please come along and be part of a wonderful, uplifting, evening before Christmas for all the family.
